State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 41-year-old woman from Gilbert is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 9:39 p.m. March 23.

She was stopped in a 1997 GMC Sierra at 1781 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township. Police said that during the stop, the front seat occupants switched seats, during which time the vehicle drifted backward and bumped into the state police vehicle.

The woman was identified as the driver and transported for a blood test.

• Two Albrightsville woman, ages 68 and 31, were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic altercation at 6:22 p.m. March 23.

The altercation occurred at a property on Behrens Road, Penn Forest Township.

• Police were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive female at 7:42 a.m. March 15 at the intersection of Blue Mountain View and Lower Smith Gap roads in Lower Towamensing Township.

They said a 58-year-old woman from Kunkletown died. The cause of death has not been determined, police said.

• Two 16-year-old girls from Palmerton who were involved in a fight at the Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township, were cited for harassment by physical contact.

Police said they were called to the school at 11:05 a.m. March 13.

• A 51-year-old Palmerton woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 4:13 p.m. March 7.

She was stopped in a 2017 Honda Accord in the 500 block of Lehigh Avenue in Palmerton, after which she was transported by police for a blood test.
