Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Offered employment to a streets crew member at the rate of $18.33 an hour.

• Offered employment to a water department member at $18.33 an hour.

• Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the vehicles and traffic ordinance.

• Appointed Eric Gavalis as a new member of the Palmerton Fire Department.

• Granted permission for fire company participation in crash demonstrations.

• Approved the 2025 borough hall office summer hours.

• Announced that the borough is seeking help organizing a community cleanup.
