Northwestern’s softball team won its third game in a row, riding a big offensive day by Rylee McGinley to a win over Hamburg on Friday.

Rylee McGinley’s huge day at the plate highlighted Northwestern’s 13-2 non-league win over Hamburg.
McGinley drove in five runs for the Tigers, collecting a three-run double in the fifth inning and delivering a single that scored a pair of runs in the third. Northwestern, which won its third straight game, piled up 13 hits in the win. Ainsley Behler was 3-for-4 with a double, while Abby Dunstan (three RBIs), Emma Freeman (double, two RBIs) and Sam Boyer (RBI) each had two hits. Freeman struck out four in five innings to earn the win.
Five different plays collected hits for the Hawks.

Southern Lehigh
Delaney Young pitched a five-hit shutout and struck out 12 to lead Southern Lehigh to a 9-0 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.
Young, who only walked one, also helped her own cause with a hit and an RBI.
I German had two hits and scored two runs for the winners, while L Padden added a pair of hits and two RBIs. L Kelly also had two hits, one a triple.
For the Bombers, Hailey Barry reached base twice with a hit and a walk.

Southern Lehigh secured a 6-1 Colonial League win over Palmerton.
The Spartans piled up 10 hits - four of which went for extra bases - in the win. Chris Fritts led the way with three hits in three at-bats. Logan Kessler earned the win, giving up four hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking three.
Cameron Pengelly was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Bombers. Luke Matsko was 3-for-4, while Pengelly also had two walks.

A strong pitching performance helped unbeaten Central Catholic claim a 2-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.
Matthew Rader earned the win on the mound for the Vikings, giving up just one hit and striking out eight with one walk in seven shutout innings. Patrick Cahill had two hits in three at-bats for the winners, including an RBI single in the fourth to open the scoring.
Braydon Green had a hit for the Bears.

A pair of big innings powered MMI Prep to an 11-0 non-league win over Weatherly.
Mikie Kranyak, Caleb Skuba and Thomas Pantages each had two hits for MMI, which scored six runs in the bottom of the third and five in the fourth. Kranyak and Skuba each drove in a pair of runs for the winners.
Trent Higgins and Corbin Wagner each had a hit for the Wreckers. Higgins also stole two bases.

Eight different players scored as Northwestern rolled to a 14-4 non-league win over Central Catholic Thursday.
Olivia Costa had three goals for the Tigers, while Sydney Wright scored three times and Cara Thomas added two goals and a pair of assists.
Ella Collins (one assist), Liv Fagan (two assists), Skyler Dion, Olivia Spatz, and Amanda Breidinger each scored once in the win, while Ashley Yacynych made six saves and allowed just one goal in each quarter.
