Ex-officer charged in two more rape cases

Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca announced additional charges against a former Allentown Police Vice Officer.

Jason Michael Krasley, 48, of Upper Milford Township, is charged in two separate cases with three counts each of rape, felonies of the first degree; criminal solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, a felony of the first degree; sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault, felonies of the second degree; and misdemeanor charges of official oppression, patronizing prostitutes and indecent assault.

Krasley surrendered Thursday and was arraigned by Magisterial District Judges Michael D’Amore and Rashid Santiago.

Krasley is free on $100,000 unsecured bail for each of the two new cases. He is scheduled for preliminary hearings at 9 a.m. on both April 4 and April 29.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Allentown Police Department is cooperating with this investigation.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call Lehigh County Detectives James Bruchak and Gregg Dietz at 610-782-3240.

The names of both victims will not be released but will be identified as Victim 1 and Victim 2. In both cases, Krasley was working as an Allentown Police Vice Officer at the time of the offenses.

Victim 1 told investigators that in 2011, she was posting ads online for prostitution purposes. Victim 1 said she had her first interaction with Krasley when he stopped her as she was walking by and used the name she posted on the online ads.

Victim 1 said in September 2012, she was walking in Allentown when Krasley approached her on the street using both the name she posted in online ads and her given last name.

Victim 1 said she had an active bench warrant at the time and Krasley asked her if the warrant was taken care of. She said the bench warrant was still active and asked Krasley if she was under arrest. Krasley responded that she did not have to be under arrest.

The woman said Krasley then forced her to walk into a small, secluded alleyway near 7th Street in Allentown where he raped her. After he raped her, she was allowed to leave and was not arrested for the outstanding bench warrant.

On another date in 2013, the woman said Krasley raped and sexually assaulted her inside a vehicle parked near Chew Street in Allentown.

Victim 2 told investigators that in May 2018, Krasley responded to an online advertisement offering prostitution services and they met at an area hotel.

The woman said Krasley sexually assaulted her while she fought to resist him. After she was able to get away from him and stop the sexual assault, the woman said she was detained by other law enforcement officers. She told the other officers about the sexual assault but no action was taken by them.

The woman was not arrested for any offense, but instead was offered transportation to a drug rehabilitation facility.

The woman said while being driven to the drug rehabilitation facility, she told an investigator with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security about the rape and sexual assault but nothing was ever done.

Investigators confirmed that the woman was admitted to the drug rehabilitation facility which had an existing relationship with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security at the time this offense occurred.
