A feasibility study is being considered to determine what size of land PPL would allow solar companies, interested in leasing land, to use for solar panels. Bowmanstown owns land in East Penn Township.
The solar project was discussed at last week’s borough council workshop, when it was noted that once the size makes sense to pursue, then a more formal application has to come through PPL, a process that could take up to six months.
Bowmanstown is looking for solar companies interested in leasing land to place solar panels on land it owns in East Penn Township.
Earlier this month, borough council agreed to get Request for Proposals from solar companies.
East Penn Township approved the variance last month, after a continuance in December.
In September, Bowmanstown agreed to submit a zoning application for the solar panel field along Route 895, right after the last house on the left heading west, with the address of 1938 E. Lizard Creek Road.
In other business, council agreed to purchase a new back pack blower from Ag Industrial in the amount of $495.
