State police at Bethlehem
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 64-year-old Schnecksville woman had $19,500 stolen from her in an orchestrated PayPal scam that police responded to on Loftin Road, Heidelberg Township.
Police said that on March 1 the scammers instructed her to withdraw the money from her bank and the funds were subsequently collected by an unknown person at the woman’s home.
• Josmel Andujar Morales, 20, of Laurys Station, was cited for criminal mischief after police responded to a road rage incident at 1:22 p.m. March 13 at the intersection of Route 145 and Mauser Street in North Whitehall Township.
Police said a 35-year-old man from Bethlehem told them that during the incident Morales hung out the passenger-side window of a vehicle and began to throw objects at the man’s passing vehicle while making obscene gestures and engaging in a verbal altercation.
Police said the vehicle was captured on video and Morales was identified.
They said the windshield of the 35-year-old’s vehicle was smashed. Damage was estimated at $600.
• A 77-year-old woman from Schnecksville had $20,000 stolen from her in a theft by deception incident police responded to at 11:27 a.m. Feb. 21.
Police said they were called to a bank on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township to investigate the report of fraud.
• Police said a 39-year-old woman from Slatington was targeted in a theft by disposition of funds incident they were called to on Route 873 in Washington Township.
They said that between 5 p.m. Jan. 29 and 6:23 p.m. Jan. 30, the woman fell victim to a scam via an electronic funds transfer.
• Kyle Harmison, 37, of Allentown, was arrested on charges of theft of a motor vehicle after police were called to Levans and Coffeetown roads, North Whitehall Township, at 10:53 a.m. March 10.
A 44-year-old Allentown woman told police she was working for a ride service and arrived at the designated location to pick up the suspect. She said Harmison struck her in the face when he entered the vehicle, ordered her out and then took her car.
• A 53-year-old Allentown woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police responded to a disabled vehicle report at 5819 Route 873 in Washington Township at 3:04 a.m. March 16.
Police said the woman was driving a 2020 Hyundai Tucson when it was determined she was under the influence.
• Police responded to an active domestic fight between two brothers at 2:35 a.m. March 16 on Monroe Court, Washington Township.
They said the two were intoxicated at the time and refused to cooperate with the investigation.
