March 27, 1972 — Tamaqua takes first in eight of nine events to give the Blue Raiders a 63-14 swimming victory over Pittston. Judy Nortavage and Mary Lou Lacek both register wins in two events. Nortavage takes the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle, while Lacek touches the wall first in the 100 individual medley and the 50 butterfly. Other individual victories come from Ann Demyanovich (50 backstroke), White (diving) and Karen Young (50 breaststroke). The winners also capture the 200 medley relay, with the team being made up of Nancy Daderko, Young, Lacek and B. Bowe.
