Lansford Borough has announced rules for its spring cleanup in May.
The borough cleanup will be done on two Saturdays in May, with areas east of Springgarden Street scheduled on May 10, and areas to the west of Springgarden Street on May 17.
All items must be placed curbside the night before the cleanup.
Acceptable items include: no more than four car or pickup truck tires up to 20 inches per household; 10 bags of normal household trash; carpet; and bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers and stoves.
Items must be bagged, and carpet should be cut into 4-foot sections, tied or bundled. All mattresses should be covered in plastic.
Bags or bundles of garden refuse, such as leaves, grass clippings, bundled branches, should not exceed 5 feet in length.
Air conditioners, refrigerators or any other Freon-bearing appliance must have had the Freon removed, and it must be tagged by a certified HVAC specialist, or it will not be taken.
Unacceptable items include tire rims, commercial tires, construction material, televisions, computers, printers, computer peripherals, electronics, appliances that contain chemicals, hazardous materials, paint oil, gas or any other chemicals.
