Weatherly Cub Scouts make birdhouses for Eurana

Weatherly Cub Scout Pack 007 Arrow of Light Webelos donated birdhouses they made to Weatherly Borough on Monday.

Cub Scout leader Jason Croman and Cub Scouts Conner Troell, Nick Rivera, Nando Posser, Tucker Gilbert, Jack Croman and Luke Dion, all fifth graders, came to borough council’s meeting to present the birdhouses.

The boys, who have been in Scouting since first grade, made birdhouses a few years ago at the Carbon County Environmental Center and wanted to do it as their project for the Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting.

The wooden birdhouses have the Arrow of Light burned onto the front of each box.

“They decided they wanted to do something for their hometown, and hopefully, you allow us to hang them in Eurana Park,” said Keri Croman.

Council accepted the birdhouses and agreed to hang them in Eurana Park.
