State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:32 p.m. Feb. 19 on Route 54 in Ryan Township.

Police said a 2019 Subaru Impreza traveling west in the right lane merged into the left lane and struck a 2017 Dodge Ram truck. They said both vehicles had minor damage.

Police did not identify the drivers.

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the entrance to the Turkey Hill convenience store in Rush Township at 3:56 p.m. Feb. 28.

They said a 2007 Subaru exited the store lot and hit a 2018 Nissan that was southbound on Route 309 at the time.

Police said both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

Police did not identify the drivers.

• Janya N. Hernandez, 28, of West Springfield, Massachusetts, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 6:43 p.m. Feb. 18 on the Exit 131B ramp of Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. She and passenger were uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound when she failed to negotiate a curve on the off-ramp. The car went off the left side of the road and down an embankment, landing among several trees. It was towed from the scene.

• Cole C. Angstadt, 28, of Pottsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 4:41 p.m. Feb. 20 on Mall Road in Ryan Township. Police said he had minor injuries after the crash but refused a medical transport.

They said he was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra north when the incident happened. He told police he was cut off by a tractor-trailer, which caused him to lost control of the Sentra. The car hit an embankment and overturned. It was towed from the scene.

Police said he showed signs of impairment.

• David J. Kostick, 45, of Coaldale, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 9:59 a.m. March 17 on Mountain Road in Walker Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2025 Hino truck west when it traveled off the road and its right front struck a ditch, mailbox and utility pole before overturning on its right side. It was towed from the scene.

• Shawn M. Stetkewycz, 20, of Hegins, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:53 p.m. March 19 on Summer Valley Road in East Brunswick Township but not transported from the scene, police said.

Stetkewycz was driving a 20016 Ford Escape, said police, who did not provide any other details about the crash.
