State police at Frackville
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 61-year-old Hazleton man was arrested on assault charges after police were called to a neighborhood dispute at 9:22 p.m. Jan. 15 on West Centre Street in Mahanoy Township.
Police said Mahanoy City residents — women ages 39 and 55, a 13-year-old girl and a 71-year-old man — were the victims.
During the dispute, police said, the 61-year-old removed a firearm from his pocket and pointed it at one of the victims. He was taken into custody and the firearm was found in his residence, police said.
Police said he was arraigned and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville.
• Ethan Burns, 21, of McAdoo, was arrested on drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at 8:21 p.m. March 8.
He was stopped in a 2012 Ford Fiesta for a moving violations in the 200 block of South Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, after which police found him to be in possession of marijuana.
• Police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Barnesville, after they were called to a domestic incident at 1:43 a.m. Feb. 22 on the Vulcan Road, Mahanoy Township.
Police said the incident was physical. A 2-year-old girl from Barnesville is also listed as a victim of the incident.
• A 20-year-old man from Hazleton is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 6:20 p.m. March 10.
He was stopped in a 2014 GMC Yukon for Motor Vehicle Code violations in the 200 block of Claremont Avenue, Rush Township, after which time he exhibited signs of impairment and was taken into custody.
• Ashley Fick, 31, of Orwigsburg, is facing drug possession charges after police were called to an incident at 5:26 a.m. March 6 on Fairgrounds Road, Butler Township.
Police said she was found to be in possession of drugs after being transported to an area hospital for treatment.
• A 44-year-old man from New Philadelphia was assaulted with a weapon, police said.
Police were called at 1:56 a.m. March 9 to an incident on Valley Street in New Philadelphia.
• Police were called to a runaway incident involving a 17-year-old girl from Coaldale.
They were called to Sixth Street in the borough at 1:55 p.m. Feb. 4. Police said the girl was located and returned to her family.
• An 18-year-old Lansford man and a 19-year-old McAdoo woman were cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a domestic incident at 10:36 p.m. March 7 on North Sheridan Street in McAdoo.
Police said it was determined both parties pushed and shoved each other.
• Joshua Minrod, 31, of New Ringgold, was taken into custody on an active warrant and was later arrested for terroristic threats after police were called to a property on Kimber Street, New Philadelphia, at 6:04 p.m. Feb. 26.
Police said a 54-year-old man from New Philadelphia said that Minrod, while holding a baseball bat, stated he was going to kill the man.
• Police were called to a theft by deception/ATM card incident at 4:52 p.m. Feb. 12 on Claremont Avenue, Rush Township.
They said a suspect arrived at the Turkey Hill convenience store at 205 Claremont Ave. in a white pickup truck and fraudulently charged $123.70 worth of diesel fuel to a debit card belonging to a 45-year-old man from Hunlock Creek,
The suspect left the scene by traveling south on Route 309.
• A 42-year-old New Philadelphia man is facing several Dog Law violations after police were called to Valley Street in New Philadelphia at 9:39 a.m. Feb. 27.
Police said they responded to several calls about a black German shepherd having escaped from the owner’s property and chasing people around town.
They said the owner was located and upon further investigation police determined the dog was not licensed or vaccinated for rabies.
The man was cited for violation of confinement of dogs, failure to license dogs and proof of vaccination.
Police were assisted in the incident by a state dog warden.
• Police were called to a harassment by communications incident at 8:55 a.m. March 13 on West Cottage Avenue, Tamaqua.
An investigation is continuing, said police, who did not release any additional information about the incident.
• Police said a 17-year-old girl from Tamaqua is the victim of a theft of lost/mislaid property incident they were called to at 8:42 p.m. March 14 at the Schuylkill Technology Center, North Campus, Technology Drive, New Castle Township.
She told police an unknown someone stole a pair of Apple Air Pods valued at $170 from a classroom.
• Police were called to a case of endangerment of the welfare of a child at 12:17 p.m. March 14 on Coal Street in Blythe Township.
They said they were summoned to check on the welfare of a 2-year-old boy from Cumbola and observed the child throwing items from a partially opened apartment window. After attempts to contact an occupant of the apartment were unsuccessful, police forced their way in.
They subsequently found the child’s father sleeping in bed. The case has been referred to the Schuylkill County Office of Children & Youth Services.
• Police were called to a report of a dog running loose at 6:41 p.m. March 10 on Fisher Avenue in Coaldale.
They said the dog was retrieved by its owner, who had left the scene. Police said witnesses could not provide identify or provide a description of the owner.
