Several roads in Rush Township will be resurfaced soon by both contractors and the township road crew.
As part of the township’s 2025 road program, Supervisor Robert Leibensperger said the board will advertise for bids from contractors for work on Grove and Tamaqua streets, and Meadow, Ryan and Frankford avenues, all in Hometown.
Those streets, he said, will be tarred and chipped with a black top.
He noted that Birch and Grant streets, along with Oak Lane, will also go out for bid. Those Hometown roads were recently affected by sewer and stormwater drainage work.
“Also, the road department has nine roads that they’re going to be doing,” Leibensperger said.
In the spring, township crews will tackle Chestnut and Miller streets in Hometown, along with Beech Lane and Houser Drive in Grier City.
Remaining roads will be tended to in the fall.
“They’ll be announced in August or September,” Leibensperger said.
