Hundreds of area Catholics gathered in New Columbus yesterday to hear His Excellency, the Most Rev. Joseph McShea, bishop of Allentown, deliver the main address at a program commemorating the silver jubilee of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in that sector of the community.

The program began with a breakfast, followed by a Pontifical Mass and Communion, after which time the bishop commended the Rev. A.J. Angelini, pastor, and the society members on their “great work,” presenting an Apostolic Blessing upon them.

Atty. Joseph Greco was the laster of ceremonies while welcoming remarks were offered by society president Frank Molinari.
