Dr. Charles E. “Chuck” Strasbaugh Jr.U.C.C. pastor; high school educator
Dr. Charles E. “Chuck” Strasbaugh Jr., 72, of Bethlehem, died March 7, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, New York. He was the husband of Lorraine “Lorrie” (Paton) Strasbaugh for 40 years. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Charles E. Strasbaugh Sr. and Ruth (Strassburger) Strasbaugh.
He was a 1970 graduate of Ephrata Area HS, in 1975 of Ursinus College and in 1978 of Princeton Theological Seminary. He earned a Doctorate degree in 1980 from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois.
He was ordained in 1978 by Lancaster U.C.C. Association and then became an associate pastor at an at Union U.C.C., Neffs; a pastor of Forks U.C.C., Stockertown; senior pastor of Christ’s Reformed Church/United Church of Christ (U.C.C.), Hagerstown, Maryland; and then became senior pastor at Salem U.C.C., Allentown, until 2000. He became a March of 2001, he began teaching German and Theology at Notre Dame HS, Bethlehem, and at Central Catholic HS, Allentown, for 18 years until he retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Jessie P.S. Fry and her husband Andy of Ithaca, New York, and Charles “Ned” E. III of Phoenixville; and a sister, Cheryl Neubert of Harleysville.
