Bethlehem on ballot
USA Today named Bethlehem’s idyllic Main Street one of the Best in America.
A panel of travel experts included the historic Main Street in its list of 20 places that offer “living history, have a vibrant culture, and serve as the hearts of their communities.”
Historic Hotel Bethlehem’s leadership is especially excited about the recognition.
Kelly Ronalds, director of room sales and guest experience, said: “Over the past several years, we’ve worked hard to raise awareness among national travel experts about our amazing Main Street. We’ve been honored to welcome them as guests and show them around town.”
The hotel has served as a Destination Marketing Organization for the historic district for several years.
“As soon as we heard the Moravian Church Settlements were on the tentative list to become a World Heritage Site, we mobilized a national marketing campaign,” said Bruce Haines, hotel managing partner. “Our team built a promotional website, visithistoricbethlehem.com, that included a heavy emphasis on Main Street.
“We also conducted a national social media advertising campaign encouraging people from all over America to discover Bethlehem’s Main Street.”
While experts selected the 20 finalists, it’s up to the public to determine the Top 10.
People can vote online at the USA Today website, https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-main-street/.
“Having won the USA Today Best Historic Hotel contest four years in a row, we have some great experience in encouraging people to vote,” Haines said. “So, I’m happy to share that our team will lead an effort to get out the vote.”
People can vote once a day every day until noon on April 7.
