State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

Police said Fayeann M. Kishel, 48, and a 15-year-old boy, both from Saylorsburg, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 7:10 p.m. March 16 on the Kunkletown Road in Ross Township.

They were transported by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg.

The crash occurred, police said, as a 2019 Honda Odyssey driven by Kishel was westbound and negotiating a curve when it hit a 2012 Subaru Forester driven by a 17-year-old girl from Kunkletown who was turning left from a driveway to travel eastbound.

Police said the Forester overturned. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Subaru and a 16-year-old girl from Saylorsburg, who was also with Kishel, were uninjured, police said.

• Mario A. Thenier, 74, and Ana E. Benavides Castro, 71, both of Williston Park, New York, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 8:12 p.m. March 15 at the intersection of Route 209 and Sherry Drive/Pohopoco Drive North in Polk Township.

They were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said the crash occurred when a 59-year-old man from Kunkletown, whom police did not identify, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and attempted to make a left turn onto Sherry Drive. Police said he entered the intersection without clearance and the Silverado hit a 2017 Kia Sportage driven by Thenier head-on.

Police said both vehicles had disabling damage.

The Kunkletown man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

• Aldin Vukel, 18, of Kunkletown, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 3:55 p.m. March 15 on Interchange Road in Polk Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Acura east when it crossed the road and hit a mailbox. It continued traveling off the road and came to rest in the parking lot of the Dollar General store. Police said the vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:16 p.m. March 13 at the intersection of Riverview and East Lizard Creek roads in East Penn Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Kenneth W. Schleicher, 21, of Lehighton, was driving at a 2007 Jeep Patriot north on Riverview Road, proceeded into the intersection and hit a 2004 Toyota Tundra that was driven through the intersection by Henry W. Mills Jr., 85, of Bath.

Police said the Jeep had disabling damage and was towed, while the Toyota was damaged but driven from the scene.

• Skylar A. Ehrhart, 25, of Lehighton, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:53 a.m. March 13 on East Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.

Police said he was driving a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit westbound when it hit a deer that entered the roadway.

The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• Roxanne Collins, 66, of Livingston, Texas, had possible injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 3:42 p.m. March 11 on Route 115 in Ross Township so was taken to a hospital.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS unit to St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg.

They said she was a passenger in a 2018 Ford F-150 that was driven by Harry B. Subwischer, 72, also of Livingston, that was southbound when it hit a deer that entered the roadway. The pickup left the road and struck a mailbox before coming to rest on an embankment, police said. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Subwischer was cited after the crash.

• Cheryl A. Jacoby, 67, of Kunkletown, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 11:45 a.m. March 7 on Carney Road, Polk Township.

Police said she was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox east when she became distracted and the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

Police said Jacoby and a child who was a rear-seat passenger were transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg, as a precaution.

• An 81-year-old woman from Bangor was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:22 p.m. March 3 on Route 115 in Ross Township.

Police said she was a driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent northbound when it slid on gravel as she attempted to negotiate a curve in the road. The car crashed in a wooded area, hitting several trees. It had to be towed from the scene.

The woman was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono, East Stroudsburg, as a precaution, police said.
