Indians honor award winners, seniors

The Lehighton boys basketball team recently held its end-of-season banquet at The Gorge at The Hofford Mill in Lehighton. At the event, the program recognized its award winners and senior team members.

The team’s Overall MVP Award (voted on by the team) was presented to Cole Dietz. The Offensive MVP Award was presented to Joe Roth. The Defensive MVP went to Blake Roberts. Aiden Solt received the Sportsmanship Award, while Caden Meek won the Coaches Award. The award winners were presented with a plaque from the Lehighton Boys Basketball Parent’s Club. The senior team members were Brayden Johnson, Roth, John Light, Dante Kalbach, and Collen Richardson. The five senior members were presented with a custom jersey from the Lehighton Boys Basketball Parent’s Club. Roth was selected by the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coach’s Association as a First Team member and received a plaque from the CLBBCA. He also received a commemorative basketball for reaching 1,000 career points. Dietz was selected by the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coach’s Association as a Second Team member and received a plaque from the CLBBCA. Lehighton finished its season at 17-9, qualified for the Colonial League playoffs, and reached the District 11 4A semifinals.
