Help is available for heating bills
Federal assistance for PPL Electric Utilities customers to help with their heating bills is still available, but time is running out.
The federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program provides grants to households to help with home energy bills or to pay off past-due balances. Customers who meet income guidelines should apply as soon as possible. Customers don’t need to have a past-due balance to apply.
“We understand some customers may be facing financial struggles,” said Melinda Stumpf, director of Customer Programs at PPL Electric Utilities. “We want to help ensure that all customers have access to the energy they need without unnecessary stress, that’s why we offer many programs and tools to help customers manage their energy costs and save money.”
LIHEAP offers up to $2,000 in grants to help homeowners and renters with heating bills. Learn more at pplelectric.com/liheap.

• Operation HELP – provides cash grants to customers struggling to pay their electric bills.
Payment arrangements – help customers pay down an overdue balance over time.
• Budget billing – averages a customer’s electric use over the entire year and then smooths out bills so they’re more predictable.
• Bill due date flexibility – for customers up to date with bills, they can pick the monthly bill due date to better fit with their income schedule.
