A man and woman are dead following a domestic incident Monday night near Cherry Valley in Montoe County.
Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg responded at 10:18 p.m. Monday to a residence at 1118 Heritage Blvd., Hamilton Township, after receiving a 911 call from a woman who was crying, with a man yelling in the background.
While on the phone with the 911 center, multiple gunshots were heard. Troopers responded to the scene and discovered a woman with gunshot wounds. A man was also discovered with a gunshot wound. The Monroe County Coroner said Cheryl Okie, 35, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man, Robert Okie, 36, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This incident is believed to be isolated. The manner and cause of death are pending autopsy.
This incident is being investigated by the Troop N Major Case Team in conjunction with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
