Palmerton’s Nataly Walters recently competed in both the State Indoor Track championships at Penn State University and the New Balance Nationals Indoor in Boston.
At the state meet, the Blue Bomber senior won the long jump with a leap of 19-5.25, which allowed her to set a new PR. She also placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 39-4.75.
The two-time Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Track and Field Female Athlete of the Year then participated in the national indoor event in Boston and managed a seventh-place in the long jump, and a 10th in the triple.
Walters posted a distance of 18-11.75 in the long jump at nationals, and registered a 39-8 in the triple to place in the top 10.
Walters, who will be heading to the University of North Florida, is a three-time PIAA champion and will be a member of the Blue Bombers track and field squad this spring.
