Two people are dead following a two-car crash Saturday afternoon in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police were dispatched to the crash with entrapment at 2:37 p.m. Saturday along 3734 Route 115, Blakeslee, Tunkhannock Township.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was executing a left-hand turn from Route 115 into a driveway when another vehicle was traveling north on 115 and struck it while it was turning through the north bound lane. Visibility was low due to fog in the area.

The occupants in the first vehicle were transported by Emergency Medical Services to Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Two passengers in the first vehicle, Joann Keifer, 75, and Cherylynn Frantz, 55, both of Blakeslee, succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the crash. The driver, Samuel Frantz, 57, of Blakeslee, was injured.

The driver of the other vehicle was Stephen Zazulak, 25, of Albrightsville

The crash is being reconstructed by the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
