Nuremberg Players presenting ‘Are You Being Served?’

The popular television comedy series, “Are You Being Served?,” will be brought to the stage by the Nuremberg Community Players.

The comical play is based on the BBC TV sitcom, a series of 69 programs that aired between 1972 and 1985 and regularly attracted millions of viewers.

According to the synopsis, double-entendres fly as the motley crew of Grace Brothers department store, including the flamboyant Mr. Humphries, played by Bobby Maso; Mrs. Slocombe, played by Brenda Sachleben; Captain Peacock, played by Carl Rumble, and Miss Brahms played by Becky Nenstiel, prepare for a sale of German goods.

They head off for a staff holiday at a one-star Spanish hotel and only have a nun’s habit, bowler hat and pair of Union Jack knickers to survive — everything remains intact except their modesty.

Due to some mature situations and adult language, the production might not be suitable for younger or more sensitive patrons.

It will be performed at 7 p.m. on March 21 and 22 and at 3 p.m. March 23 at the Players’ theater, 283 Hazle St., Nuremberg.

Tickets may be reserved by calling 877-718-7894.
