My Dear Heart was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer back in 2021.

Never a smoker or someone who worked in an industry that would have exposed them to cancer causing agents, genetic testing was conducted to see if genetics was playing a role in the disease.

My Dear Heart tested positive for a genetic marker for which a new treatment was just available. While this new innovation was not a cure, it offered treatment with only 1 pill a day. Imagine that – 1 pill a day. No chemo therapy; no radiation; no surgery and no side effects associated with these treatments.

Since 2021 My Dear Heart has only heard good news – the tumor has not grown; the cancer has not spread.

When My Dear Heart asks the doctor what, if anything, they should do or continue to do, the doctor replies, “Stay healthy. There are new breakthroughs in cancer research and treatment every day.” What hope a statement like this gives to someone facing a life altering/ending diagnosis.

This hope of patients and their families, researchers, and doctors for continued research and breakthroughs has now been flushed down the drain because of the pound-foolish decisions by this Administration and its side kick.

Remember this when Your Dear Heart comes home with the news of cancer while the coins of your “DOGE Dividend” rattle in your pocket.
