State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 48-year-old Weatherly man was cited for “false alarms/dialing devices” after police responded to an incident at 9:39 p.m. March 2 on Old Airport Road in Hazle Township.
Police said they were dispatched to the site for a report of a man contacting a medical helicopter in an attempt to solicit a ride to Florida. They said he used a hand-held radio in the attempt.
According to police, the man, while speaking to the pilot, refused to provide reasons or other information, which triggered emergency responders to report to the scene. Police said the man was apprehended and charged.
• Police were summoned at 2:04 p.m. Feb. 25 to a report of the theft of $1,200 worth of copper scrap metal at a property on Jeansville Road in Hazle Township.
A 70-year-old man from Hazle Township told police someone stole metal that was piled up behind his shed.
Police said a check with local scrap yards to see if the metal was sold yielded negative results.
• A 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from Beaver Meadows were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic incident at 2:35 p.m. March 2.
Police said the altercation took place at Main and East Broad streets, Banks Township.
