The Ukrainian Homestead of CEC, ODWU, 1230 Beaver Run Drive, Lehighton will host the U.S. debut of the feature film “People of Steel” at 2 p.m. Sunday.
This documentary film provides an inside look into the front lines of the current war in Ukraine. The film features interviews with soldiers on the ground, relatives of prisoners of war, and survivors of the horrific battle for the city of Mariupol in the spring of 2022.
The film is directed by Serhiy Fomenko, a popular Ukrainian singer, songwriter and producer and documentary film maker from Kyiv, Ukraine.
The film is offered to the public free of charge, but good will donations will be accepted. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase starting at 1 p.m. The film’s director and a Ukrainian soldier will be in attendance.
