State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Brandii L. Scott, 41, of Philadelphia, had minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 4:13 p.m. March 5 at mile marker 81.4 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said she was transported by emergency medical services personnel to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.
They said she was a passenger in a 2018 Mercedes-Benz driven by Stacy Ann Simms, 48, also of Philadelphia.
The vehicle was southbound when it struck the center concrete barrier, police said.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at mile marker 69.7 in Washington Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Isaac B. Sharkan, 37, of Hellertown, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta that sideswiped a 2019 Freightliner driven northbound by Douglas G. Cogswell II, 68, of Towanda.
Police said the Jetta left the scene and was located in a parking near the crash site. They said Sharkan exited the car and ran. He was later identified and charged with numerous traffic violations and driving with a suspended license due to a DUI charge.
Police said the Jetta was towed from the scene, while the Freightliner was able to be driven from it.
