State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a theft by deception/identity theft incident at 8:52 a.m. March 5 on Cindy Lane, Ross Township.
They said someone opened accounts in the name of Semler Scientific Inc.
• A 44-year-old woman from Nescopeck is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:26 a.m. March 3.
She was stopped in a 2016 Nissan Rogue for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.
• Charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance are pending against three drivers of vehicles police stopped.
One was at 10:44 a.m. Feb. 26, when police stopped the operator for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at an undisclosed location.
The other stop was made for numerous traffic violations, but police did not report the driver’s identity or address, or when and where the stop was made.
The other incident resulted in the driver of the vehicle refusing a chemical test, being taken into custody and being committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning. Police did not say where the driver lived, or where the stop for numerous traffic violations took place.
• Police said they were summoned to a reported disturbance at a time and place not identified, but said one person was arrested after being observed yelling and screaming.
• Police said they were called to a theft incident in which a man, who was not identified, reported items had been stolen from his mailbox. He told police he received a refund from Temu shortly after reporting the incident.
• Police said they responded to an inactive domestic incident, but did not say where or when.
They said a woman told them she and her husband got into an argument, after which he kicked her in the stomach twice after she threw clothes at him and pushed him onto the couch, causing him to fall and break his glasses.
• Police were called to a report of a snowboard valued at $400 stolen at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, Lower Towamensing Township, resulting in the arrest of a 48-year-old man from Bel Air, Maryland.
A 31-year-old man from Marlton, New Jersey, was the snowboard owner.
• Police said a man was charged with harassment after they were called to a disturbance/noise complaint on Feb. 7 at a site not provided in the report.
They said the other person involved showed them footage of a verbal altercation that took place on his porch.
• Police were called on Feb. 6 to a harassment by communications incident, but did not report who was involved or when and where the incident happened.
They said the person received 28 emails within a 24 hour period after being blocked by phone. They said multiple Facebook posts were also made on the person’s page in an attempt to make contact.
