State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police are investigating a theft at a property on Lakeside Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

A 63-year-old man from Effort reported someone stole his mail and forged two of his personal checks.

• Shaindy Shechter, 64, of Larksville, is facing charges of fleeing and eluding police after they attempted to stop him for a traffic violation.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Honda at 7:53 a.m. on Feb. 23 on Interstate 80 westbound in Tobyhanna. They said the pursuit ended with him being taken into custody without incident.

• A 54-year-old Brodheadsville woman was the target of a theft by deception incident reported Feb. 20 on Azalea Road, Chestnuthill Township.

She told police she had money stolen from her when she provided $550 worth of gift cards to put a security deposit down on a rental vehicle.
