The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said that a woman walking on a rail trail was hit by a falling tree and killed Wednesday.

Robbin Mary Danko, 61. of Springfield Township, was walking in the 1700 block of Valerie Lane on the Saucon Rail Trail in Lower Saucon Township when she was hit by the tree, the coroner said.

She was pronounced dead at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday in the emergency department at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem.

The Lower Saucon Township Police Department is investigating, along with the coroner’s office.
