A large pothole by the cantilever along Route 248 has a Palmerton borough official concerned.
Councilwoman Holly Hausman Sell referred to the pothole as a “crater,” and noted there was recently a significant crash that took place there.
The pothole has been filled, but Sells said she was concerned for the people of the community who travel that section of Route 248, and told motorists to not hesitate to call PennDOT.
Council President Terry Costenbader said he came through there and that it appeared what was used to fill the pothole in had already begun to come back out.
Sean Brown, PennDOT spokesperson, said that while he wasn’t sure what pothole in particular was being referred to, Northampton County Maintenance was out on Route 248 pothole patching earlier last week.
