March 5, 2016 — Jim Thorpe’s Kevan Gentile and Lehighton’s Connor Frey both capture gold medals at the Class 2A Southeast Regional championships. Gentile registers a pin of Wilson’s John Consorti in 3:22 of their 106-pound title matchup, while Frey posts a 7-0 decision over CJ Steinhilber of North Schuylkill in their 195-pound championship encounter. In addition to the two seniors, Northern Lehigh’s Ryan Farber (160) and Cameron Kates (285), as well as Palmerton’s Jared Mooney (182), come away with second-place finishes. Gaining a third place was Lehighton’s Tegan Durishin at 145.
