Diamond Fire Company Social Club, 100 Washington St., Walnutport, will host Vince’s Cheesesteak Thursday in its parking lot from noon-6 p.m. to benefit the Richards family, who lost their home to fire in Slatington on Jan 15.

Celebrate outdoors

Emerald Fireworks & Picnic by the Emerald Fire Company, 7700 Penn St., Slatington, will host a Celebration of the Outdoors, Saturday from 5-11 p.m. Snow date is March 29. There is a cost; tickets are available at Boyer Hardware, Spring Valley Meats and Seasonings and the Emerald Fire Company. Prizes, raffles and drawings are for outdoor sports items.

Book sale

Slatington Public Library, 650 Main St., Slatington is having an ongoing book sale of paperbacks and hard cover books. In addition to individual books, people can fill a free Slatington Public Library cloth bag for a set price. The library is also running a 50/50 raffle fundraiser. The drawing will be held on April 21 during the Women’s Club’s Fine Arts Night at the library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased during regular library hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Thursdays and Sundays.
