State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents: • A 39-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 11:16 a.m. on Feb. 25. Police said he was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 and was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Lehigh Drive. • Police are investigating a theft by deception case involving a 60-year-old Jim Thorpe man. Officers were called at 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 24 to a property on Bowman Road, where the victim reported he was scammed out of money through Bitcoin. • A 23-year-old Lehighton woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 1:59 p.m. on Feb. 24. She was driving a 2016 Mazda and was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Iron Street. • Police responded to a reported theft at 9:43 a.m. on Feb. 19. A Saylorsburg man told officers that blades for a vibrating tool, valued at $25, were stolen from his mailbox on Couch Drive. He said he received a refund shortly after reporting the incident.
