A man wanted in a Washington Township man shooting is in custody Pennsylvania State Police said Adam Sosa, 26, of Allentown, was picked up Friday and arraigned on charges including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and illegal firearm possession.
Troopers responded around 12:25 a.m. Wednesday to a home on Welshtown Road, where they found the victim inside, bleeding from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and back. He told police that Adam Sosa, 26, shot him outside the residence during an argument over an ex-girlfriend before fleeing in a white Mercury. The victim was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Shortly after, police found an abandoned white Mercury Milan crashed about a half-mile away. Witnesses told police that Sosa had been at the Welshtown Road residence earlier that day and had ongoing conflicts with the victim over the woman. Surveillance footage showed a fight between the two before Sosa fired three shots, striking the victim with the last one. Around 9:35 a.m., police received information that Sosa and the woman were at a Slatington home. Witnesses there said Sosa admitted to the shooting, claiming the victim was unarmed but charged at him. The woman told police that Sosa picked her up Tuesday evening, and after leaving the residence, the victim approached Sosa, leading to a fight. She said she saw Sosa fire a warning shot before shooting the victim. Sosa is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2021 conviction.
He is in Lehigh County jail, in lieu of $150,000 bail.
