Warrant issued for man charged with shooting in Washington Twp.
An Allentown man is being charged with shooting a Washington Township man following a fight over a girlfriend.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Noe Vargas of the Pennsylvania State Police, Bethlehem barracks, in the case against Adam Sosa:
At 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, troopers from the PSP Bethlehem barracks, responded to the 2900 block of Welshtown Road, for the report of a man with a gunshot wound.
Troopers Justin Yozsa and Michael Limoli found the victim lying on the floor, just inside the residence.
The victim was bleeding from wounds in the abdomen and back.
He said that Sosa, 26, shot him one time with a black pistol, while outside of the residence.
He said Sosa drove a white car, possibly a Mercury, and that he and Sosa were arguing over an ex-girlfriend.The victim taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
At 12:39 a.m. troopers from the PSP Bethlehem barracks, were dispatched to the area of Welshtown Road and Rextown Road, about a half mile from the scene of the shooting, for the report of a one-vehicle crash with entrapment.
Troopers located a white Mercury Milan off the roadway, on the right side of Rextown Road, facing south. The vehicle had heavy front-end damage and was unoccupied.
At 3 a.m. trooper Ryan Ziegler and Vargas conducted multiple interviews with people living at the residence located on Welshtown Road. They learned that Sosa and the woman had both been at the residence throughout the day on Tuesday.
The victim and Sosa were known to have issues over the woman whom both have had romantic relationships with.
Multiple people at the residence reported hearing two “pops” late in the evening, and later found the victim lying outside of the side door to the residence, and the victim was yelling for help.
Surveillance footage from the residence showed a confrontation between the victim and Sosa occurring next to a white sedan.
A fight ensued, and Sosa fired three shots, with the last shot striking the victim. The victim walked toward the side entry door of the residence, and Sosa got into the car and drove away.
At 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, troopers received information that Sosa and the woman were possibly at a residence on Dowell Street, Slatington.
Two of the occupants said that Sosa and Ascani showed up to the residence sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Wednesday, and that Sosa told them that he had just shot the victim at the farmhouse located on Welshtown Road.
Sosa was reported to have stated that the victim did not have any weapons but “charged” at him. They said that Sosa stated he shot two “warning shots” to deter the victim and then shot him in the chest. They said they do not know why Sosa and Ascani came to the residence at Dowell Street, but he had been there before.
The girlfriend was interviewed and said at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sosa picked her up in a white Mercury Milan.
They went to the Welshtown Road residence and stayed there for a bit. As they were leaving, the victim approached Sosa from the rear and a fight began.
The woman said she heard a gunshot, and saw Sosa fire another gunshot into the sky. She then observed Sosa point a firearm at the victim and shoot him.
Sosa is a prohibited to have a gun due to a conviction on Aug. 11, 2021, where he plead guilty to prohibited offensive weapons.
He faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of firearm prohibited.
