Three area girls players — all from different schools — were recently named to the Schuylkill League All-Area Coaches 1st Team All-Star squad.

Tamaqua’s Lauren Ligenza, Panther Valley’s Morgan Orsulak and Marian’s Addison Fritz were selected to the team, along with Schuylkill Haven’s Mckenna Runkle and North Schuylkill’s Hannah Kane.

Orsulak and Fritz are both juniors, while Ligenza is a sophomore.

Orsulak averaged 14.23 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while Fritz is currently averaging 14.17 ppg and has connected on 58 three-pointers. Ligenza finished her season with an average of 13.28 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

In addition to the local trio, Marian’s Deanna Pugh and Addy Marek both made the Second Team. Fillies’ teammate Olivia Serfass was named to the Third Team, as was Tamaqua’s Kolbe Robb.

The league also handed out Sixth Woman awards. The Blue Raiders’ Millie Black received one of those honors in Division 1.

Deanna Pugh, Marian (sophomore), Makayla Keck, Blue Mountain (senior), Felicia Bro, Mahanoy Area (junior), Addy Marek, Marian (freshman), Jo Barnhart, Pottsville (sophomore).

Third Team

Audrey Hutchinson, Schuylkill Haven (junior), Kolbe Robb, Tamaqua (senior), Olivia Serfass, Marian (junior), Ayla Schneck-Haines, Pine Grove (senior), Anna Schaeffer, Schuylkill Haven (senior).
