State police have two people in custody after an officer-involved shooting that originated in the Harrisburg state police jurisdiction Sunday afternoon.
Trooper Ethan Brownback, public information officer for state police in Schuylkill and Reading, said the incident continued into Troop L territory. Police shut down Route 61 north of St. Clair about 2 p.m. and blocked off the Coal Creek Plaza, which has a number of stores including Walmart and Home Depot. Darkwater Road has been closed.
He said four people were involved. Two male juveniles are still at large.
Brownback said a perimeter has been established and it still an active investigation.
A high-speed chase was reported on Interstate 81 going north from Harrisburg. State police responding included troopers from Frackville, Schuylkill Haven and Reading.
Route 61 reopened about 4 p.m.
