Tracking the flu

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported influenza, RSV and COVID-19 cases through the week of Feb. 15:

Flu

• Influenza activity is very high, but decreased slightly from the prior week.

• There were 153,350 laboratory-confirmed influenza cases reported season-to-date from Sept. 29 through Feb. 15.

• The percentage of emergency department visits resulting in an influenza diagnosis is very high for all ages statewide, especially the 0-4 and 5-24 age groups.

• 348 influenza-related deaths have been reported in Pennsylvania residents by the National Center for Health Statistics for the 2024-25 season.

RSV

• RSV activity in the state is decreasing.

• 38,009 lab-confirmed cases have been reported season-to-date from Sept. 29 through Feb. 15.

• The percentage of emergency department visits resulting in an RSV diagnosis are decreasing statewide for all ages.

COVID-19

• The percentage of emergency department visits with a COVID-19 diagnosis are low statewide for all ages.

• 793 COVID-19-related deaths have been reported in Pennsylvania residents by the National Center for Health Statistics for the 2024-2025 season.
