Monroe County Commissioners
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items during their meeting on Wednesday morning.
• Advertise: Election Board change of meeting from March 5 to March 19 at 10:30 a.m., and ordinance approving a Demolition and Rehabilitation Fund per Act 48 of 2024 for the sale of Oriental rugs.
• Use of Courthouse Square for the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 678 on March 29 for National Vietnam Veterans Day.
• Monroe County Correctional Facility: Planned Service Agreement with Johnson Controls for Simplex Fire Alarm System from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31, 2028, for $17,898 per year.
• Children and Youth Services: contracts for professional services from July 1, 2024, to June 30 with MHY Family Services for $140,000 for multi-systemic therapy; Miracle Hearts LLC for $300,000 for group home service; Institution for Human Resources and Services Inc. for $50,000 for foster care; approve amendment with ChildFirst Services to correct Attachment C to remove Independent Living for $80 and add One-Person Home for $1,062.99; and reappoint Lauren Peterson and Greg Pershyn to the advisory board with a new term to expire Dec. 31, 2027.
• Proposal from Widmer’s Tree Service for removal of vines from old jail and walls, cut trees and remove debris from exercise yard for $8,000; lowest of three quotes.
• A four-year lease with Frasier Advanced Info Systems (CoStars) for two copiers for the Court Administrator office at 48 payments of $240 per month, one copier each for the Adult Probation and Juvenile Probation offices at 48 payments of $220 per month.
• Allocation of $31,238 to Northbound and Co. for opioid use addiction/recovery treatment services, and an allocation of up to $150,000 to Cornerstone Community Initiative for Opioid Use addiction/recovery treatment services, both paid from the Opioid Settlement Funding.
• Probation: Service agreement with Stericycle Inc. from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31, 2030, for waste removal on-call pickup at $350 per pickup.
The commissioners also ratified:
• A change order with Lobar Construction Inc. for $36,496.84 for installation of bollards, door hardware changes and installation of access control devices.
• Contract addendum with Securitas to include an unarmed officer rate of $29.25 per hour.
• Elections: Proposal from ElectSure Learning for online training and support for a 12-month period for $18,000; and approval of the Building Use Request Form with St. Paul Lutheran Church for 2025 Primary and General Elections.
• Fiscal/Grants: Submittal of the Election Integrity Grant Program Post-Election Report totaling $322,824.11; and ratify submittal of the 2024 Emergency Management Program Grant financial status closeout with expenditures totaling $66,242.19 for the period on Oct. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2024.
