St. John United Church of Christ, at a meeting held Sunday morning, authorized the consistory to enter into agreement with the firm of Heyl-Howard-Philips, Architects and Planners, Allentown, in a joint venture with Harold M. Blacker, General Contractor, Wescosville, to replace the 88-year-old structure.

The new church will be erected on the same site as the existing building at the corner of Pine and Biddle streets. It will consist of brick construction and will include a main floor level and basement containing 10,000 square feet.

Total cost for the new building, including furnishings, the rebuilding of the pipe organ and stained glass windows, is expected to be approximately $275,00.
