ON THIS DATE FEBRUARY 17, 1972

The Silberline Manufacturing Co., Lansford, was honored by the Pennsylvania Manufacturer’s Association for its outstanding safety performance.

The aluminum pigment manufacturer was presented PMA’s “Performance Award” during a ceremony yesterday at the plant offices for its employees having operated 260,480 man hours without a disabling occupational injury from May 18, 1970, to Jan. 3, 1972.

Joseph Scheller, vice president, accepted the award from William R. Turnbaugh of PMA. In attendance were Walter Zebroski, vice president, William Whildin, plant superintendent, David Parker, plant engineer, Edward Kostek, vice president of Local 485, Aluminum Workers International, John Lenick, foreman, and Edward Gurka, safety committee member.
