Lansford hosts forum access, more

Lansford property owners, residents, taxpayers and electors are invited to attend an informational meeting Wednesday.

A core group of concerned citizens organized the public forum at 6 p.m. at the American Legion on West Ridge Street in Lansford to raise awareness and spur discussion.

Topics will include police and public safety, lack of council transparency, function of committees, a review of the “Sunshine Act,” grant proposals, the future of the Lansford pool and train station, the new borough garage, use of former Silberline properties, need for forensic audit, code enforcement.

Those interested in running for borough council, mayor or tax collection should attend to learn about filing petitions for public office in the 2025 primary election. Petition are now available and there is no fee to file.

Current elected and appointed officials are welcome to attend. The meeting will include information, discussion and a question-and-answer session.
