State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police said a 2019 Subaru Impreza struck a deer at 8:02 p.m. Feb. 5 on Mountain Road in Washington Township.

They did not identify the driver of the vehicle that was eastbound on Mountain Road, approaching Deer Road, when the animal ran into the roadway and was struck.

The car was able to be driven from the scene by the driver, who was uninjured, according to police.

• Jeffrey S. Johnson, 55, of Palmerton, was uninjured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:18 p.m. Feb. 7 on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry northbound when a 2004 Ford F-350, which was also northbound, passed the Camry and failed to make certain it was safe to overtake it, striking it, after which the driver fled the scene.

Police communications officers made contact with the Philadelphia Police Department two days later in an attempt to have an officer respond to the address of the registered owner of the striking vehicle, but no contact was made.

• Alexandra N. Neff, 29, of Palmerton, was uninjured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:38 p.m. Feb. 5 at the intersection of Old Post Road and Bellview Drive in North Whitehall Township.

Police said she was driving a 2023 Kia Sorento westbound on Old Post Road when an unknown vehicle, also westbound, was traveling too fast for conditions. Police said it struck the Kia in the rear, after which the driver fled the scene.

The Kia sustained functional damage, police said.
