The 45th anniversary Father and Son Banquet of the Palmerton Area was held on Saturday night at the West End Fire Company Banquet Hall. The affair was attended by 217 sons and fathers.

The Palmerton Area, Kittatinny District, is composed of eight Boy Scout troops and from Explorer posts from Palmerton, Aquashicola, Bowmanstown and Trachsville.

Boys from four units described special activities that their unit participated in during the year.

John L. Faust, district commissioner, presided at the Court of Honor. Merit awards were presented to troops 41, 42, 45, 46, 47 and 209.

Master of ceremonies was Atty. Roger Nanovic. The Invocation and Benediction was offered by the Rev. Leonard Newton, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
