State police at the Pocono barracks reported a woman was cited after a crash on the Northeast extension of the Turnpike.

The two-vehicle crash at 8:38 p.m. Feb. 2 was at mile marker 93.6 in Kidder Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Joy J. Gomez, 40, of Upper Darby, was driving a 2019 Honda southbound when she failed to operate it safely due to inclement weather. They said she lost control of the car while attempting to pass a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Nicole Sanchez De Jesus, 31, of Philadelphia, striking it and causing disabling damage to the vehicles. Both were both towed from the scene.

Police said Gomez was cited for careless driving.
