Route 309 in West Penn Township is closed due to a motor vehicle crash.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. involving an ambulance.

The vehicle was traveling south on the south side of the ridge cup when the driver lost control on a snow covered roadway.

The vehicle struck an embankment before coming to rest on its side.

The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to an area trauma center.

The West Penn and New Ringgold fire companies responded to the scene. West Penn police are investigating the incident.
