Robert Rex, 40, whose last known address is Tamaqua, is wanted on charges of evading arrest and resisting arrest.
According to Tamaqua police, officers were contacted by Lansford police at 7:56 p.m. Feb. 1. Lansford officers said they were trying to serve a warrant from Carbon County on Rex but he ran away from them. Lansford police were alerted that Rex might be at a convenience store on the 400 block of West Broad Street in Tamaqua and contacted Tamaqua officers for assistance.
Tamaqua police located Rex, and when told of the warrant, he ran from them. Despite being told multiple times to stop, he ran east on West Broad Street.
Officers advised him that they would use a stun gun if he did not stop. When he continued to refuse, police deployed the stun gun. The stun gun’s barbs made poor contact with Rex, and he continued to run.
