Bertha (Valent) Collevechio, 210 W. White St., was selected unanimously by the Summit Hill Borough Council last night to fill the unexpired term of her late husband, Carlo J. Collevechio Sr., who passed away last month.
She was administered the oath of office by Mayor Richard P. Caffrey and given a plaque honoring her late husband by Patrick Leonzi, council’s vice president who moved to the presidency by unanimous vote of his colleagues.
James Crampsie was named to fill the vice president’s post being vacated by Leonzi.
Carlo Collevechio served the borough for more than 17 year, having been appointed in 1979 and elected to terms of office in the 1981, 1985, 1989 and 1993 elections.
