When construction of St. Peter the Fisherman Church at Lake Harmony is completed, it will house some of the most beautiful wood carvings in the world.

A hand-carved altar front piece of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” has already been completed and is currently on display in front of the altar at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Jim Thorpe.

The work is a masterpiece of wood artistry and is comparable to the 154-year-old Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal, having been completed by a young Canadian craftsman, Atelier Denys Heppell, and commissioned by Monsignor Joseph Dooley, pastor of ICCC and the new church at the lake.
