Comedian Sam Morril ranks among the entertainment highlights set for local and regional venues over the next two weeks.

The New York City comic, known for his deadpan delivery, will bring his Errors Tour to the Wind Creek Event Center. The latter will also host a tribute to Michael Jackson.

Among other tributes, Tusk brings the sounds of Fleetwood Mac to Penn’s Peak. Blue Suede, meanwhile, celebrates Elvis Presley at the State Theatre, with YYNOT honoring Rush at the Sherman Theater.

Films have their moment in the spotlight, as Pocono Cinema & Cultural Center hosts The Pocono Indie Project, a screening and networking event for independent artists.

• Jessie’s Girl, 8 p.m. Jan. 31. The New York City band, taking its name from Rick Springfield’s 1981 hit of the same name, will perform its “Back to the Eighties Show.”

• Tusk, 8 p.m. Feb. 1. The tribute group performs the music of rock band Fleetwood Mac. Tusk takes its name from Fleetwood Mac’s same-titled 1979 album and song.

• The Sixties Show, 8 p.m. Feb. 7. Members of The Sixties Show, performing music from the 1960s, have played with artists such as Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen

• Jimmy Kenny and the Pirate Beach Band, 8 p.m. Feb. 8. Hailing from Long Island, New York, the group performs the music of Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band.

• “The Michael Jackson HIStory Show,” 8 p.m. Feb. 7. Garth Field, a South African native, was cast as the King of Pop in 2023. Previously, he was a choreographer, dancer, star and manager of the Spanish production “This Is It: A Tribute to Michael Jackson.”

• Sam Morril, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Hailing from New York City, the stand-up comedian released his debut album “Class Act” in 2015. Morril, whose comedy specials include 2018’s “Positive Influence” and 2024’s “You’ve Changed,” co-hosted the 2017 MSG series “People Talking Sports: And Other Stuff.” Other credits a cameo in the 2019 film “Joker” and co-hosting the podcast “We Might Be Drunk.”

• The Amish Outlaws, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31. The cover band, formed in 2002 in Lancaster with a mix of ex-Amish and “honorary Amish” members, performs music from various genres.

• The Nerds, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1. The band, formed in 1985, covers music in genres such as R&B, blues, funk, dance, rock and pop.

• 15th Annual Souper Bowl, 1 p.m. Feb. 2. Restaurants and caterers will prepare soups and compete in various categories. James Beard Award nominee Lee Chizmar, of Bolete and Mister Lee’s Noodles, will lead a workshop on making gumbo.

• Super Trans AM, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7. The act plays arena anthems and 1970s radio hits.

• Dirty Deeds, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The group pays tribute to Australian rock band AC/DC.

• “The Wedding Singer,” 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 3 p.m. Feb. 2. In2YouArts presents the show, based on Frank Coraci’s 1998 film. Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy wrote the book, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Beguelin. The show, which premiered on Broadway in 2006, was nominated for five Tony Awards.

• YYNOT, 8 p.m. Feb. 7. The rock act will perform a tribute to Canadian rock band Rush. YYNOT, whose name nods to Rush’s 1981 tack “YYZ,” has recorded original music.

• Winter Jam. 7 p.m. Feb. 8. The lineup features: Mike Frank & Friends, playing original jam/rock music and cover songs; the Joe Cirotti Trio, a string band; and Deal, paying tribute to rock band Grateful Dead. Deal takes its name from a same-titled 1972 Jerry Garcia track.

• The Pocono Indie Project, 4:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The event, showcasing independent artists, will include screenings of trailers/music videos, short films and Tom Smith’s 2023 feature film “Valentine Bluffs.” The latter serves as a fan sequel to 1981 slasher film “My Bloody Valentine.” There will also be Q&A sessions and meet and-greets. Other featured artists include Chelsea Komorowski, Desiree Zielinski and Isaac Williams.

• “The Blue Whale,” 7 p.m. Feb. 8 and 15, 3 p.m. Feb. 9 and 16. Laura Zlatos’ play, winner of the 2024 Shawnee Original Playwright Series Full Length Dramatic Play Award, marks its world premiere. Real-life events inspired “The Blue Whale,” which examines the relationship between violence and social media while illuminating the climate crisis and its effects on marine life.
